Obama's View on Net Neutrality

President Obama has been fighting in favor of net neutrality even before he was a president.
2007 - His presidential campaign contained key concepts favoring the right to a free and open internet.
2010 - The FCC introduces regulations that say that ISP's could not block any content or set any limits on users.
2011 - Verizon files a lawsuit against the FCC rules on net neutrality
2014 - A user creates a petition that is then signed by more than 100,000 people voting for an open and free internet. The White House responds and says that they support the petition. This caused the FCC to open a debate where people could submit their opinion on this topic. Over 4 million people submitted their comments and the people's voice definitely caused an impact on the FCC final decision.
2015 - The FCC rules that the internet should be free.

Net Neutrality Definiton

First we must establish a proper definition for what net neutrality means:it means that our ISP (internet service providers) should give us the freedom to access anything on the internet without any regulations.

My Stand in this Issue

We should have freedom using the internet. I don't think there should be a regulation by the companies that provide us internet service. I think this is a good topic because our lives are so centered around technology and the internet that people should be more aware of the circumstances that are happening behind the scenes.
